Indian worshippers proved it again! It was the most bewildering event in January 2008 of Malaysia.

Staying close to Batu Caves for long but that was my first experience on Thaipusam in close-encounter! Apart from the heat and heavy crowd, the smoke was pretty unpleasant for one whose does not fit in that culture. Body peicing was cruel and hurting to oneself. my guess was the way those pilgrims cleanse their soul. With bare foot under the unforgiving sun and heavy decors on both shoulder, devotees were carrying tributes slowly up to the 272 steps staircase. It was thought that spirit was invited into "in the body" and carrying them all the way to the hilly temple. It was endurant, spiritual as well as the physical one trying to archive.
